Façade Improvement Program
Deadline April 17th, 2025

The FACADE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, a collaboration between the Downtown Maple Business Improvement Association and the City of Maple Ridge, provides grants to property and business owners in Downtown Maple Ridge to renovate, restore or redesign their commercial building facades and storefronts. The purpose of this program is to continue the revitalization of the downtown core by improving the physical appearance of the buildings and therefore making downtown a more inviting and interesting place to shop, walk, live and play.
We encourage you to read the Façade Improvement Program material on this page and call Flori Chaykowski (DMRBIA Executive Director) to discuss any proposed improvements to your building. The list of eligible improvements in extensive, the application is simple and straightforward, and the dreaded red-tape is kept to a minimum, even with the District's requirements.
Please keep in mind:
- It is mandatory to apply for a DMRBIA Façade Improvement grant BEFORE starting project.
- All 2025 projects have to be completed and paid for before Dec. 31, 2025 to be eligible.

Graffiti Removal Programs
Are you getting painted into a corner?
If you are a business or property owner and require graffiti removal, contact us. This service is available to every DMRBIA member requiring graffiti removal - you provide the paint and the DMRBIA Clean Team will provide the free labour. If you have no paint, we do have a small supply (by donation) which we will try to choose the best-match coloured paint for your wall.
Don’t allow graffiti to take over Downtown Maple Ridge!

Outside of the Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association catchment area - Citywide graffiti can be reported to bylaws@mapleridge.ca or 604-467-7305.
Mural Projects
The Mural Projects are a series of artistic public wall paintings on selected buildings in the downtown area.
If you are a building owner interested in putting a mural on a wall of your building, consider applying for a Mural Program Grant, where the DMRBIA may fund up to 50% of the cost of the mural up to $3,000. The Mural Program is always accepting applications.
Clean Team
The Clean Team, a co-operative partnership with Coast Mental Health, a “social enterprise” type of program.
Clean Team members can be spotted throughout our BIA area, picking up trash and keeping our streets and alleyways tidy
Sparkle Week
Let's all SWEEP - POLISH - SHINE our way to a fresher, brighter, cleaner downtown.
This week runs at the beginning of the summer, when the weather turns magnificent. Downtown businesses create the sparkle that helps draw in customers and visitors. A clean community goes a long way to improving the business climate.
Each year, the BIA invites all business and property owners to participate in this clean-up campaign and are asking you to sweep your sidewalks, wash your doors, clean your signs, pull those weeds, cover any graffiti, clean your windows inside and out, and create a new window display.
The BIA coordinates with a number of local businesses, who offer discounts to BIA members for window washing, power washing, landscaping, graffiti removal, and painting.
