The piano has now been moved to its “Hibernation Location” in the Maple Ridge Library; upstairs, north-side of the building. Next June/July 2018 it will be moved back in the Bandstand.

Pianos on the Street is back in Downtown Maple Ridge for the 3rd year! Feel free to play the beautiful “Canada 150 themed piano” on the bandstand in Memorial Peace Park, now until September. As last year, the piano was painted by artists at Vicuna Studio (RMACL); beautiful job!

Pianos on the Street is an innovative BC wide summer project presented by the Piano Teachers Federation of BC, hosted by the Downtown Maple Ridge businesses (for more information please visit, www.pianosonthestreet.com).
The goal of the project is to bring music to as many people as possible, to engage the community, and to activate public spaces.

The City of Maple Ridge has been working closely with Transport Canada and CP Rail towards eliminating the use of train whistles in Maple Ridge. On Tuesday, September 18, Council passed a motion to prohibit the use of train whistles at the eight crossings located in Maple Ridge, the next step in a formal process that began in 2017.

The Business Watch program in Maple Ridge has been up and running for one year. The RCMP and BIA have spoken to approx. 150 businesses in the target area. Just to remind everyone the target area is located between 222nd to 224th Street, from Dewdney Trunk Rd to Lougheed Hwy.
